Featured Course: Statistics and Probability
Statistics introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. The four major components of the course are: describing data, finding ways to display and explain what one or more variable data means; collecting data, looking at how to gather data randomly and without bias to the extent that is possible; probability, looking at the mathematical rules that govern the behavior of random events; and those three culminate with the study of statistical inference, estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses. The pace of this course may vary and will allow for deeper investigation of topics that interest the class and will include a larger focus on utilizing technology.
